Andalusite
Andalusite comes from a common metamorphic mineral first found in Andalusia, Spain, it is aluminium nesosilicate mineral. This beautiful gemstones shows an interesting play of color which includes reddish orange, green, and yellow color hues that resembles a muted form of iridescence, although the colors are actually the result of unusually strong pleochroism. It has an hardness of 7 on the Mohs hardness mineral scale, equal of Quartz gemstones. Rare to find in big size over five carats, is usually cut into cabochon when presents some visible internal inclusions into the crystal or faceted when the stone presents minor inclusions or an eye clean clarity. Andalusite is not a well know stone, duo to its lack in popularity it is considered a very attractive gemstone for gems collectors.
