Jade

Jade is a very ancient and popular gemstone, Nephrite is the more common form of jade with its color from dark green to bright green, or sometimes with some tint of grey on pale green, it can also be white, yellowish, lavender, black, white, pale red. Large deposits of nephrite Jade are in China, but the best quality are found in Myanmar, Burma where they are called imperial Jade duo to their bright green color hue with strong saturation and medium tone (colored by trace of chromium) very close to emerald color. Finest Jade quality are traslucent with bright green color, usually cut into cabochon are often treated with dye to improve and uniform the color. When opaque with not uniform color, Jade stone with big size are often carved into sculptures, especially in China and Southeastern Asia countries.
