Kunzite

Kunzite is the pink gemstone variety of the mineral spodumene, that includes hiddenite (green variety) and yellow spodumene, it usually comes with a pale pink color hue, can sometimes show a bright and more saturated purple pink color, but the color can easily fade if the gemstone is exposed to prolonged direct sunlight. It is strongly pleochroic, resulting in different color intensities depending on the angle it is viewed from. Often found with eye clean clarity and in large size, kunzite is really attractive but is not an expensive gemstone. Usually is not treated but sometimes can be heated or irradiated to improve the color saturation, making them more attractive, unfortunately this kind of treatment is not stable and color will fade if exposed under sunlight.
